Parents with autistic children now no longer need to worry how to handle children with special needs, because now there is no way to know autism is closer, by using the comic.
Autism Society of Indonesia (MPATI) launched Indonesia's first autism comic entitled 'Autistic Child Companions We All' in Jakarta, Wednesday (30 / 3).
Gayatri Pamoedji, SE, MHC, Chairman MPATI, the choice fell to the comics as reading material is easy on the eyes and easy to understand. He hoped, with the release of this comic autism community could clearly understand what and how to handle children with autism.
"We hope that this comic can provide information that is easily understood by Indonesian families with appropriate parenting for children with autism to help them live more independently,"said Gayatri, the mother of two children who study autism by his eldest son who are now teenagers experiencing this disorder.
This comic series will be published. MPATI proceeds will be used to support programs related to the progress of the dissemination of information about autism.
In addition to publishing comics, previous MPATI autism has also produced a DVD that can be obtained free of charge for parents who are serious about dealing with children with autism.
In thethe near future MPATI also will host a free seminar for parents ,teachers who teach in school children with special needs ,as well as observers of autism in Indonesia . Half-day seminar which takes the theme 'Autistic Children Can Self' will be held on 3 April 2011 held at Titan Center, Bintaro, Jakarta.
"We want to share about the proper upbringing for children with autism. With the right upbringing, we believe children with autism have hope for a better future to be able to live independently," he concluded.
